각종 온라인 정보검색시스템을 이해하고, 검색에 관한 이론적 양상을 텍스트 데이터베이스를 중심으로 학습하며, 상용 온라인 시스템을 사용하여 탐색과 평가에 대한 실제적 경험을 함으로써 장차 검색전문가 및 서비스 운영자로서의 기초능력을 기른다.
교과목해설(영문)
This course focuses on searching online retrieval systems and databases. We examine bibliographic database construction, Boolean searching, file selection, search strategies, and evaluation of search results. We cover basic and intermediate levels of commercial system languages that students put into practice in lab assignments. Class discussion conclude with the state of the art in the field.
